Be a Big Brother – give a Little something back

BBBS Rockland County

Why do we need Big Brothers?

More than 70% of our children waiting for a Big are boys, but only 3 out of every 10 inquiries to volunteer come from men. On average, a boy will wait more than 33% longer for a Big than a girl. Research indicates that having the positive influence of a Big Brother makes a real difference in a boy’s life. Learn why so many Big Brothers say, “I get back so much more than I give.”

Being a Big is an opportunity to not only impact a child’s life today, but to transform his/her potential for tomorrow.

For just a few hours, a couple of time a month, you can give a Little the invaluable gift of your friendship. Whether you are playing a board game or maybe even helping answer the “tough” questions about becoming a man – by simply changing the perspective of what the world can offer, you can literally start changing their lives.

Here’s how you can help right now: If you would like to enrich the life of a youth, please volunteer today. If you know someone who has what it takes to be a Big, please forward this page and tell that person how much he/she is needed, how much fun he/she will have and what a wonderful difference a Big can make!
